IT IS REALLY A ‘PATHETICOCRACY’ WE NOW OBSERVE
A verse attempting to capture others’ sentiment shared
“To what purpose have I a conscience of my own, if I must live and die according to the conscience of another man?”
— J. Gerson.
GERSON, JEAN CHARLIER, born at the village of Gerson, near Rheims, 1363; an illustrious French theological and critical writer; died at Lyons, 1429.
This verse may invariably be perceived as an insult casting a very wide net. It seems that I’m beyond worrying about the people so lost and unwilling to to be competent stewards of this country. Frustration with other Americans is not only my malady of course. But I had to address the possible vitriol written below and the insulting nature of my writing. The quote below sums it up for me
“The greater portion of mankind are more sensitive to contemptuous language than unjust acts; for they can less easily bear insult than wrong.”
— Plutarch.
Plutarch (c. AD 46 – after AD 119) was a Greek Middle Platonist philosopher, historian, biographer, essayist, and priest at the Temple of Apollo in Delphi.
It is my wish that the right side of political spectrum somehow learn through osmosis how to captain their ship responsibly in the coming months and years. They suffer perhaps by not realizing their true state, hopefully this may become more visible to them through the justice system’s actions on the very bad actors within their midst.
