ONLY SOLID ACCEPTANCE WILL ALLOW FOR ADAPTATION
Some thoughts on how we deal with anthropomorphic climate change
Above I put my thoughts down earlier today. The weather has been breezy with a little light rain today. We expect more rain coming into Northwest Montana where I live tonight. Hopefully no severe rainfall events occur, and the rain may help out the wildfire situation here, although this year has been relatively smoke free so far. I went to X and did a search for the word ‘adaptation’ seeing what would come up. Several are making my point with their postings, or at least nearly my point. It seems that most all of us who follow the facts and the climate scientists like Professor Michael Mann understand the situation we are in, and that a halt to injecting obsessive amounts of greenhouse gases must be accomplished very quickly. We must adapt wisely using available technologies but invest heavily in research and development in other possibilities. There is disagreement on the exact science as we are dealing with complex systems, and predictions are only as good as the data and the models it is put into. But this should never be used as an excuse for inaction. Here is what I found on X.
I also went to Truth Social and searched using the word ‘adaptation.’ I was a little surprised that it is even being addressed in any manner other than straight denial. I found four postings interesting enough to show here. This might give us an idea of what we’re up against if we are to adapt. There is the usual regarding it all as some kind of liberal conspiracy or hyperbolic ranting as is to be expected, nonetheless I thought these views at least interesting in that some thought was put into several of them, albeit perhaps faulty in reasoning. And the usual public sector capitalism as the saving device shines through it all as the only possible solution to the problem.
So I addressed climate change today. Many books have been written on it, thousands of words spoken on it, and I’m adding some more words of my own. One can only hope that the pieces fall in the order that they must to actually do something about our heating planet. Adaptation means different things to different folks as you probably realize upon reading the postings above. I’ve said my two bits on it today, for better or for worse.
