Here are some thoughts I choose to share about the never ending Trump saga. Some of these have been on my mind for sometime, others only recently.
In the justice system, the intent of the defendant is apparently paramount in a criminal case. In the case of Donald Trump, one has someone who acts erratically, and seems to think in erratic, irrational ways. This is being proposed as a defense for this man essentially, that his true intent in January 6, and in the document case, that he believed such and such, therefore he’s not liable for his resulting actions. He believed the election was fraudulently stolen from him, and that he believed he could declassify documents by a tip of a hat. That is what his defenders wish to push upon this country. Everyone seems to be catering to his pathological condition, and the justice system itself is hampered by this impossible task to clearly define his intent at any one time. Again, I suggest that this erratic behavior has been his savior over many years. The abnormality of it has actually protected him from accountability, and it still is even after action upon action of near criminality to full criminality. If not for his wealth, this secret legal weapon of his probably would not have been effective for long, if ever. And now with his status of a former president, with adoring worshipers who grovel at his feet and now as a leading candidate for a major political party, will someone finally make a determination on this man’s intent? It seems imperative to do so, with a jury making the final call.
Possessiveness is symptom of some mental disorders. Trump seems to believe the documents he took were his to take. Setting aside the very real possibility that they only were a source of extra money from his time in the hospital, perhaps his possessiveness is only a symptom to his possible personality disorder, or disorders. Possessiveness is one very early behavior in very young children, and psychological theory have pointed to the adult version of it to be determined by one’s parent’s parenting. There seems to be great importance to many people for certain objects, which might be comforting in reducing feelings of low worth. Hoarding is thought to be connected to early childhood. I thought this might lend some understanding to Trump, which might be overlooked due to his caustic, self-absorbed persona.
It always is so apparent that if one finds a rational thinking man or women attached to Trump’s inner orbit, they most often depart, or are run out. It is sometimes hard to connect someone like the latest attorney to leave the scene, with the aberration of Trump. He seemed to not lie on MSNBC, first and foremost, and presented a moderately good argument in defense of Trump’s document case. At least for me he seems rather normal, and to my untrained mind his arguments made some sense, and not the insanity which we associate with anyone around Trump. This is all nothing new, but I continue to evaluate those who choose to be around Trump by their apparent mental state. Only those who share within the madness cloud of Trump seem to last for any time.
