WILL PUBLIC OPINION EVENTUALLY CATCH UP TO THEM?
One might think in terms of a house of cards, and it’s only a matter of time (maybe)
I wrote this verse after understanding what men like Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt said about the importance of public opinion. Now propagandistic efforts have tainted many opinions within our society, so we cannot dismiss its importance. But if more and more light is directed upon the actual actions of Trump and his enablers through the justice systems, one can only assume that public opinion in this matter will most likely be altered, to the detriment of Republicans. At least that is a reasonable prediction in my mind. Here’s my verse.
A search of “public opinion” on X brought up these recent posts in American politics. I honestly think that Trump is given more credit than he may be possessing to shape broad public opinion. I really think his days behind the curtain are about to end. Maybe it’s only wishful thinking on my part.
There are certainly millions of dollars being spent in the right-wing echo chamber in order to try and twist public opinion to that which may assist in the efforts of the ultra-wealthy to only be beneficial to their particular desires. One can see the so-called “influencers” at work every day on social media, introducing one conspiracy theory after another hoping for something to stick well within their audience. So legitimate news programs and responsible opinion programs only have so much coverage. Certainly in my state of Montana one sees a very unhealthy news environment, and the Red State hears what a Red State is supposed to hear. Now I certainly think there are limits to what will be accepted, and in the case of Donald Trump I think he has saturated his followers with so much conflicting information that fatigue has to be widespread at this point. I truly think that public opinion is about to catch up to the right wing contingency. And the United States Supreme Court is widely disrespected now, and it appears that they only want to proceed as they have for the last twenty years and not address their core problems. I can’t imagine in any way how public opinion of this body can possibly improve.
